Coal Tar Contamination Guidelines

Graham Corban, Key Account Manager - Environmental, is a member of the WasteMINZ Coal Tar in Roading working group that prepared the recently released Guidelines for Assessing and Managing Coal Tar Contamination in Roading. WasteMINZ released the guidelines in late 2023.

The guidelines provide national guidance regarding the investigation and management of coal tar roading material, and have been developed for use by contaminated land experts as well as authorities and regulatory bodies.

You can view the new guidelines here. Webinars are being planned by WasteMINZ to introduce the guidelines to the industry.

We would like to acknowledge the work that Graham and all the working group members have put in to prepare the guidelines, and hope that the guidelines are a valuable industry resource in the coming years.
