Testing Vine to Finished Wine
New Zealand winegrowers will be buoyed by the positive prediction for the 2022 vintage, following a disappointing 2021 vintage. This prospect of increased exports will no doubt be welcomed by the international market with a growing appetite for this region’s wine.
Hill Laboratories is well known by the wine and viticulture industry for our commitment to providing world-class testing services. We've been testing wine for more than a decade and we have a dedicated specialist wine testing lab located in the heart of Marlborough. Offering a suite of testing for every stage in wine production, from vine to finished wine, we specialise in wine export analysis with a number of other related analyses to meet all major winery testing needs.
With changing and complex export requirements, we continue to work closely with the industry to ensure we have the latest test requirements you need to take your wine abroad. A recent example of this was the extension of our Brazil Export Panel in support of the New Zealand wine industry’s growth into South America.
The addition of Grapevine Leafroll-associated Virus 3 (GLRaV-3) testing last year further extended our already extensive testing service. Grapevine leafroll viruses can cause serious repercussions for plant productivity, reducing yield by up to 50% by disrupting the flow of nutrients to the shoots and leaves and stunting vine growth. We offer virus testing results in just five working days. By providing this quick turn-around time to growers, they are better positioned to plan and make critical decisions.
Across all our testing services, we pride ourselves on our fast, accurate reporting and industry-leading turnaround times, in part due to the state-of-the-art instruments we have in our labs and the expertise we have in running them.
We value our continued partnership with New Zealand winegrowers, and, as always, we look forward to assisting you with your testing needs. If you have any questions, please call our friendly Client Services team on 0508 HILL LAB (0508 44 555 22) or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
