“After hearing great things about the culture and the people at Hill Labs, I decided to take the plunge and join them, and I have now been part of the Commercial team for just over five months.
There were a few things that drew me to apply for a role at Hill Labs, including the extensive knowledge that we bring to the industries we operate in, and the opportunities it provides for me personally to expand on the horticulture knowledge that I’ve gained in previous positions. I love that in my role as a Key Account Manager for the Food & Bioanalytical sector, no two days are the same and there’s so much variety!
Depending on the day, I can be doing anything from identifying new business opportunities that drive growth for the company to preparing quotes or tender submissions. I am fortunate to interact with many of our staff internally as well as external stakeholders such as government bodies, research centres and customers. There are also client visits and conferences (Covid permitting) which provide insights on the issues that the industry faces and create an open discussion on these challenges.
Some of my favourite parts of the job are building and strengthening my working relationships with our clients, and working closely with them to ensure that their needs are met and their expectations exceeded. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling with my husband (again, Covid permitting!) and exploring new places and cultures. So far we’ve ticked off some incredible landmarks like Machu Picchu, Iguazu Falls in Brazil, Leaning Tower of Pisa, La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Blue Domes of Oia in Greece, The Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Tower and many more. In my spare time I also enjoy playing squash and in winter I will be heading to the slopes for some snowboarding.”
