“I was looking for a change and new challenges when I started at Hill Laboratories, after working at Navman Wireless for eight years. In my current role as a Help-desk Administrator, I am lucky to work with a wide range of IT systems and people from all areas of New Zealand. From training agricultural field representatives on how to use our mobile application in their paddocks, to laboratory technicians trying to import test results into our LIMS system; there is never a dull moment in support!
Being part of the team that is developing our new laboratory information management system is by far the most interesting and captivating project I am working on. As we develop and release features to the business and our customers, the value we provide is intangible so it’s exciting to partake in the feedback process and hear that our customers are getting the service and support they need.
A career highlight at Hill Labs has been building a help desk function in the business to support our external-facing digital offerings such as our mobile apps. Before implementing this function, our commercial team was weighed down by IT-related queries from clients. Having the opportunity to build a responsive support channel to troubleshoot and resolve these issues is something that I am personally proud of.
I really enjoy working at Hill Laboratories as it is a friendly and family-oriented business that is filled with hard-working people. Our executive leadership team is very easy to approach and discuss ideas with, and the social club event on the last Friday of every month encourages colleagues from all parts of the business to meet and catch up with one another over drinks.”
