“My career with Hill Labs began in 2018, after a referral from a friend. I knew that the company did great work with environmental monitoring and that, coupled with my interest in and experience with science meant applying for a job here was a no-brainer for me. I had a short stint away at the end of 2019, but I couldn’t keep away for long and I’ve been back since October 2020.
I started as a lab technician in 2018 in Sample Reception, where I worked for the majority of my time before moving into the Commercial team. I’ve been in my current position of Client Services Manager since May 2021.
My role involves helping our clients with any work that they have in progress, as well as providing information to prospective customers about how our testing can help them achieve their goals in their respective fields. That’s got to be my favourite part of my job - seeing how our services help our clients succeed in their specific industries. Our results are a vital tool that our clients use to help sell their products, so it’s a great feeling to know that we are actively playing a role in many important areas in the New Zealand export sector.
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy hiking and being outdoors. We’re lucky to live in such a beautiful country with lots of amazing views to be found. I also spend a lot of my free time listening to and playing music - as a retired DJ this is a good way to unwind and stay creative!”
