Expansion of our Cannabis Testing Services
Hill Laboratories is committed to providing the New Zealand medicinal cannabis industry with world class analytical testing services. We have had some significant developments to our cannabis testing services since our last update nearly a year ago, including an expanded cannabinoid testing suite and IANZ accredited micro testing for cannabis flower.
Although our testing is not currently available under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), it is well suited for research and development projects, as well as for any licensed growers that don’t require testing under GMP.
We are delighted to have the following services available to the medicinal cannabis sector:
Our cannabinoid method is IANZ accredited for dry cannabis flower. Since the last update we have increased the number of cannabinoids in our suite. Our suite now includes THC, THCa, CBD, CBDa, THCV, THCVa, CBC, CBCa, CBG, CBGa, CBN, CBNa.
Our Terpenes method has been validated on dry cannabis flower and oils. The suite analyses for 21 different terpenes. There is scope for this method to be utilised outside of the medicinal cannabis sector e.g. for essential oils, beverages etc. Please get in touch if you are interested in testing for Terpenes.
We now have IANZ accredited methods on cannabis flower for Aerobic Plate Count, Yeasts & Moulds, Salmonella, Bile Tolerant Gram Negative Bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and E.coli. Both EP (European Pharmacopoeia) and APHA methods are available for some tests.
Environmental monitoring is also available. We can supply air settle plates and swabs to monitor grow rooms or to swab processing equipment for bacterial or pathogen analysis.
Heavy Metals Testing
Metals analysis is available in soil, leaves and cannabis flower. Our flower method covers the 4 elements prescribed in the Misuse of Drugs (Medicinal Cannabis) Regulations 2019, which are arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury.
Pesticide Residues Testing
Currently we are the only New Zealand lab offering pesticide analysis in cannabis. We can analyse for all of the compounds mentioned in the regulations (excluding chlormequat, chloride, and daminozide).
Mycotoxins are naturally occurring toxins produced by certain fungi that are found on agricultural crops. Our mycotoxin method covers aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2 and Ochratoxin A. This method is validated on dry cannabis flower.
