BFEA Awards 2022

An incredible line-up of innovative farmers and growers from around Aotearoa have been selected for this year's Ballance Farm Environment Awards (BFEA’s). The BFEA awards are held annually and celebrate good farm practises that promote sustainable land management. Award contenders have the chance to win the Hill Laboratories Agri-Science Award which recognises excellence in the use of technology tools to increase productivity and minimise environmental impacts. The awards programme aligns with our sponsorship focus of supporting sustainable farming and conserving the environment and we have sponsored the BFEA awards for over 15 years.
Category award winners and supreme regional winners are normally announced at a series of regional events held around the country, however the format of this year’s award nights is yet to be confirmed due to current event restrictions. In previous years, the awards season has culminated in a Sustainability Showcase Event which was to be held at the new Te Pae conference centre in Christchurch - again this event format is yet to be confirmed. At this event the Gordon Stephenson Trophy - the BFEA’s national award - is awarded to one of the supreme regional winners. The national winner then takes on an ambassadorial role for NZ Agriculture Inc, and will be recognised for their efforts in promoting sustainable and profitable farming in New Zealand.
