This year’s contenders for the Ballance Farm Environment Awards (BFEA’s) have been selected - an incredible line-up of innovative farmers and growers from around Aotearoa. Almost 50 properties are eligible for this year’s awards, celebrating good farm practices that promote sustainable land management. These contenders have the chance to win the Hill Laboratories Agri-Science Award. This award recognises excellence in the use of technology tools to increase productivity and minimise environmental impacts. We have sponsored the BFEA’s for over 15 years. This awards programme aligns well with our sponsorship focus of supporting sustainable farming and conserving the environment.

The category award winners and supreme regional winners will be announced at a series of regional events, held around the country throughout March and April. The Sustainability Showcase Event will this year be held at Te Papa, Wellington. At this event the Gordon Stephenson Trophy, the BFEA’s national award, will be awarded to one of the supreme regional winners. The national winner will take on an ambassadorial role for NZ Agriculture Inc, and be recognised for their efforts in promoting sustainable and profitable farming in New Zealand.
