Mycotoxins are produced by fungi and can be found in grains and cereals that have been affected by mould. Grains are also commonly treated with insecticide to prevent infestations during storage. We test cereals and grains for mycotoxins including Fumonsins, Aflatoxins and Ochratoxin. In addition to this pesticide residue and heavy metal screens can be used to detect a multitude of metals and pesticides that may be present.
Cereals and grains are tested for compliance to maximum residue levels. Testing for mycotoxins in animal feed is carried out for safety as mycotoxins are extremely toxic.
