New LCMS/MS.  

There was excitement at Hill Laboratories’ Innovation Park lab when 3 huge pallets arrived on the 16th of January. On the pallets were a brand new AB-SCIEX 5500 LCMS/MS machine and other supporting equipment, such as a nitrogen generator.
The LCMS/MS (Liquid Chromatography, with double Mass Spectrometers) machine is used for the detection of compounds in the presence of other chemicals (in a complex mixture) and is a key piece of equipment for the lab.
This particular model of LCSM/MS is cutting edge and is one of only a very limited number in New Zealand. It will greatly add to the capabilities of the Food & Bioanalytical division for GLP and pesticide residue testing here at Hill Laboratories.
